1. Who We Are
Next Edge CNC, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") develops and sells Machine Shop Manager Pro.
This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use
of our software and website at nextedgecnc.com.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Machine Shop Manager Pro stores all of your business data — jobs, customers, employees,
inventory, machines, quotes, and all other records — locally in a database on your own
computer. We have no access to this data, do not transmit it to our servers, and do not
collect it in any form.
3. Information We Do Collect
The following limited data is transmitted to our servers during normal software operation:
License Validation
- Your license key
- A hardware fingerprint (anonymous hash of your CPU and network adapter identifiers) used to enforce single-machine licensing
- Your software version number
This information is sent to our license server at license.nextedgecnc.com periodically to confirm your subscription is active. It is used solely to verify your license and is not shared with third parties.
AI Assistant (optional)
- If you use the built-in AI assistant via our proxy (ai.nextedgecnc.com), your query text is forwarded to Anthropic's API to generate a response
- Queries may include machine names, job descriptions, or G-code context you provide
- We do not store AI query content on our servers beyond the duration of the request
- Anthropic's own privacy policy applies to content processed through their API
- You may alternatively configure the Software to use your own Anthropic API key directly, bypassing our proxy entirely
Bug Reports & Suggestions (optional)
- If you choose to submit a bug report or feature suggestion from within the Software, the report text, your license key, and your software version are sent to our servers
- This is always a manual action — nothing is sent automatically
Website (nextedgecnc.com)
- Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained for up to 90 days for security and analytics purposes
- We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics on our website
4. How We Use Information
- License validation data is used exclusively to verify that your subscription is active and that the Software is running on an authorized machine
- Bug report data is used to identify and fix software defects
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes
5. Data Retention
- License records are retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to 2 years after cancellation for accounting and dispute resolution purposes
- Bug reports are retained until the underlying issue is resolved or for up to 2 years
- Hardware fingerprints are deleted when you cancel your subscription
6. Data Security
All communication between the Software and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
Your license key is stored encrypted on your local machine. Our license server is
hosted on a hardened VPS with access restricted to authorized personnel only.
7. Your Rights
You may request at any time:
- A copy of the information we hold about you
- Deletion of your license record and associated data upon cancellation
- Correction of any inaccurate information

8. Children's Privacy
Machine Shop Manager Pro is a business software product intended for adult use in
commercial and industrial settings. We do not knowingly collect information from
anyone under the age of 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active subscribers
of material changes via the in-app update banner or by email. The current version is
